I purchased a ’96 Velocity a year ago, which had been stored in a hangar for several years. The aircraft had 800 flight hours; the previous owner, who started a new job with the FAA in Washington DC, was unable to fly it further, leading to
its period of inactivity. Before my purchase, new cylinders
and a top end were installed. I handled the break-in process
on the ground and, being an A & P, thoroughly inspected and
refurbished the interior. We upgraded to a System 32 electronic fuel and ignition system, resulting in a smoothly running aircraft ready for flight anywhere. Unfortunately, I never completed my pilot’s license and was not permitted to take a training flight in a Velocity as a student pilot to familiarize myself with a canard aircraft. While I don’t require the funds and have already paid for the plane, I am selling it to avoid it sitting idle. The aircraft is currently housed in Statesboro, GA, near Savannah, GA, and has always been kept in a hangar.
